Wynnum Christmas party and trophy presentation
Wynnum members celebrated Christmas with flamingos, tinsel, trivia and the annual Trophy Presentation. Winners were presented with their trophies by fellow members and special guests.
oday the courts were dressed in pink flamingos wrapped in tinsel, all in the spirit of Christmas.
Wynnum held their Christmas Party today, followed by the annual Trophy Presentation. Providore Viv and her elves did an amazing job in organising the catering and setting up. The huge variety of food provided by the members meant there was a taste sensation with every plate. It certainly was a lovely way to head into the Festive Season.
Secretary Aina provided some head-scratching questions with her annual Xmas Trivia quiz, with the winning table achieving 8 correct answers out of 11 questions. A huge box of Roses chocolates and a mini trophy was awarded to them for their great effort.
We were very fortunate to have two very special guests: Therese Prebble from George Hartnett Metropolitan Funerals, a sponsor of many years, and Dell Nichol, a very respected past member of our club. Both were very excited to present their trophies.
President John had arranged for the trophies or shields to be placed on tables, and for one person sitting at that table to present the winner/s with their trophy. It was certainly a different way of presentation, involving several members, which everyone seemed to enjoy.
