Wynnum celebrates championship trophies and Christmas party

Our annual club Championship Trophy Presentation and Christmas party was held in the clubhouse on Saturday afternoon. Along with members and their partners were invited guests who included our sponsors and our club patron Peter Cumming.

The spread of delicious food on the buffet was overwhelming, organised very well by our new Providore Ann and her band of helpers, catering for almost 50 people.

Between courses we were all suitably entertained by Aina and her Christmas Quiz. This is when we all realise that we don't know as much as we thought about Christmas!

President Liz then presented the club trophies and medals to the winners of events which had been held throughout the year. It has been a very busy croquet calendar with lots of tournaments, both within our club and also interclub events. Some of our members have even travelled interstate to bring back medals. It is always a privilege to play against these top players and we congratulate them all.

We all look forward to an exciting 2020 full of more competitions, gala days and regular club days.

If anyone is interested in learning how to play any of the codes of croquet - the game we all love so much - then give our club Secretary Bruce a call for more information.
