Windsor Golf Doubles winners crowned despite showers

It was another day on the lawns, this time for the Windsor Golf Doubles. Players came from Burleigh Heads Palm Beach, Eildon, McIlwraith, Ipswich, Windsor, East Brisbane, Toronto (NSW), Laurel Bank and Merthyr to compete in this annual event. We had a few light showers, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the players.

The format was 13 point round robin and timed to 1 hour. It seemed many of the players were evenly matched, with the number of games going to tie breakers which was very interesting to watch.

Along with the players, we welcomed support people from McIlwraith and Eildon. It was good to see players being supported by their fellow club members.

The winners are:

- Block A - Casey (Eildon) and Max (Windsor) - Block B - Graham and Rosie (McIlwraith) - Block C - Judy & Peter (Eildon)

Thanks to the players, referee, event organiser, tournament manager, bakers, hoop setters and other club members who pitched in to help make the day a success.

Our next event is the Windsor Golf Brooch to be held next Friday 15th August.
