Windsor Croquet Club escapes flooding after heavy rain
Windsor Croquet Club has not flooded despite 292 mm of rain and high tide concerns. The courts remain closed until further notice, with minor damage to the court 3 awning.
hat a week! Talk about rain, rain and more rain.
I do hope that you are all safe.
After a few nerve-racking days, it is with pleasure that we can report the Windsor Croquet Club has not flooded. Phew!
It was touch and go on Monday morning as the high tide coincided with 292 mm of rainfall from 9am Sunday. The overflow from Enoggera Dam also added to flood concerns for Tuesday morning.
A special thank you to Lyn and Graham, who ventured to the club daily, giving updates on the rain gauge readings and the state of the lawn and clubhouse.
The only 'casualty' was some damage to the fixed awning on court 3.
The courts will be closed until further notice. The lawns and surrounding grassed areas are of course sodden.
Plans are in place to bring back the equipment and furniture. Thanks again to those members who have stored these items during this rain event and have provided assistance when required.
