Wentworth's team wins Southport Intraclub Gateball Competition
Southport Croquet Club held its annual Intraclub Gateball Competition, with Lee Wentworth's team taking the Beryl Phillips Trophy. Julia Tai's team finished second on a countback.
oday at Southport Croquet Club the annual Intraclub Gateball Competition was held. After the threat of rain, the day turned out to be really delightful as well as being a wonderful competition.
There can only be one winning team, which was comprised of Lee Wentworth (Captain), Kathie Grant and Graham Jackson. Congratulations to the trio.
In the photo below, Lee is holding the Beryl Phillips Trophy for this annual Gateball triples competition.
In second place, also with the same number of wins but not winning because of a countback, was Julia Tai's team, consisting of Julia, Dianne Sweet and Robyn Barlow.
It was unfortunate that Beryl herself was unable to attend because of ill health.
