From Visitor to Player

There's a shift that happens around the fourth week.
In Week 1, you're worried about the rules. You're conscious of stepping on the line or hitting the wrong ball. Everything feels slightly unfamiliar.
By Week 4, that noise disappears.

The shift

You stop thinking about how to hold the mallet and start thinking about where to send the ball.
You stop wondering whether you belong. You start asking your playing partner, "Do you think I can make that hoop from here?"
You know who to ask if you're unsure about something. You know where the good mallets are kept. You've worked out the tea roster.

What changes

The game hasn't changed. You have.
Four weeks ago, croquet was something you were trying. Now it's something you do. That's the difference between a visitor and a player.

What happens next

At the end of this week, you'll have a choice. No pressure, no hard sell. Just a question: do you want to keep playing?
If yes, joining is simple. If you need more time, that's fine too.
For now, enjoy the week. Walk through the gate like you belong there.
Because you do.
