On Sunday the 27th, 12 members arrived at Wynnum at 7.00am to compete in this event, only to find the courts half covered with water from overnight rain. They were advised that, as the weather was clearing, a decision on play would be made at 9.00am. After 8 o'clock a team of helpers took to the courts with brooms and large squeegees, which allowed play to start by 9 o'clock.

The competition was rearranged into 4 blocks of 4 to be played before lunch, with finals and consolation knock-out competitions after lunch.

In the Consolation event, Bob and Jan reached the quarter final, Bruce and Bev reached the semi finals, and Jim and Barbara finished runners-up in the final.

In the main event, Chris and Peter and Di and Trevor both made the quarter finals, with Di and Trevor being beaten by the eventual winners after extra time. Maia and Ian were just beaten 4-5 in their semi final.

In all, it was a very good day for Twin Rivers Club, with 28 games played for 12 wins and a further 8 games lost by only 1 hoop.
