Twin Rivers hosts Croquet and High Tea day

The visitors to our Croquet and High Tea had a wonderful time on a hot, sunny day. New players were given a basic coaching lesson, followed by a wonderful morning tea of scones with jam and cream, sandwiches and cake, and even a glass of champagne!

Club members were generous with their time and took the visitors out on the courts for a game, where they took great delight in making their shots.

Our patron Bert van Manen MP made a surprise visit and enjoyed playing a game (which he won!), after which he made a short speech and chatted to everyone during morning tea.

Funding for this event was from the Active Women and Girls Grant awarded to CAQ, and each club was allotted a portion of the funds. We are very grateful for the opportunity to promote our club and the game of croquet with this support, and are very happy with the result, having had very positive feedback from the day.
