Twin Rivers celebrates 14th birthday with Mad Hatter's Tea Party

e celebrated our 14th birthday this year with a Mad Hatter's Tea Party and added a couple of degrees of difficulty to the games. It was a fun day with some fabulous hats and a beautiful spread for lunch. The table was decorated to suit the occasion with some lovely cups, saucers and teapots, among other Alice in Wonderland knick-knacks.

The judges, Annette and Allan from the Beechworth Croquet Club in Victoria, had a real challenge in deciding the best hat, but finally awarded the prize to Lesley, who had certainly gone to great lengths to produce her masterpiece. Well done Lesley, and welcome back Annette and Allan.

Now, if there was a contest for best decorated cake, there is no doubt that our cake would have won. We should have resisted the desire to eat it and entered it at the Ekka, but that may have caused a riot. A big thank you to Colleen, who did an amazing job. It was beautiful.

Not everyone found running a hoop backwards easy, but it sure was fun to watch. In another game, only the red, blue, green or pink balls were allowed to run hoops. That caused a bit of chaos, but it was a great way to get the pairs talking tactics.

There were also some great raffle prizes to be won, so a big thanks to our sponsors Go See Touring, Office Works and The Eagle Tavern, and to the members who also donated prizes.
