Twin Rivers Croquet Club has broken ground on a new clubhouse.

A clubhouse rebuild is the kind of project that takes years to fund and weeks to make happen. Twin Rivers has reached the build phase after several years of consistent club fundraising and a successful planning approval.

The build matters for more than the club's own members. Older facilities make it harder to host visiting players for pennants and tournaments, and harder to attract new members who tour the place before they sign on. Investing in the building is investing in the next decade of play.

For clubs thinking about a similar project, the trickier parts are usually council approvals, sequencing the fundraising in chunks the membership can stay enthusiastic about, and keeping play running through construction. Twin Rivers is willing to share what they've worked through on each of those.

Construction is scheduled through mid-2026. The club is playing through it on temporary arrangements.
