Toombul hosts historic Golf Croquet Open Doubles

What a fantastic weekend of croquet! Toombul Croquet Club was proud to host the Croquet Queensland Golf Croquet Open Doubles over the weekend.

Huge congratulations to our tournament winners, Beth Parker and Ann Rawding from Burleigh Heads Palm Beach Croquet Club. We understand this is a historic milestone as the first time an all-female partnership has claimed this title.

Well played also to our runners-up, Anthony and Dani Nelson, who travelled all the way from Dunsborough and Districts Country Club in WA. It was a pleasure having a warm-up game with Anthony and Dani prior to the weekend!

The competition was fiercely contested right down to the wire, with the title coming down to the very last game. Both top teams finished with an impressive 9 wins each, separated by just a 4-hoop margin.

Thank you to all the players for the great sportsmanship, competitive spirit, and for visiting Toombul.
