Tony steps up as Wynnum's gardening coordinator
Wynnum Croquet Club has a new gardening coordinator. Tony, self-described as the "reluctant gardening coordinator", began the role at last Saturday's working bee.
he croquet club has a new gardening coordinator. Tony has dubbed himself the "reluctant gardening coordinator" after Club President Alison gently but firmly steered him into the role. Tony accepted the challenge, and last Saturday's working bee was his first official day "on the job"!
Fortunately, Tony is not entirely new to the green side of life. He brings with him hands-on experience from landscaping gardens at properties he has owned, so the club grounds are in capable hands.
Already, Tony has rolled up his sleeves and is producing a practical 12-month plan plus a more aspirational vision for the years ahead. His focus is on creating a low-maintenance garden that suits the needs and energy of our members, while keeping the club looking welcoming and well cared for.
Good luck Tony, may your weeds be few, your plants hardy and your volunteers plentiful. Thank you for stepping up!
