Tom Knight wins Division 1 Selectors Invitation Event

In conjunction with the CAQ 2016 Div 1 Medal last weekend at Stephens, the Division 1 Selectors Invitation Event was also held. This, too, was a keenly contested event between six very capable players.

Tom Knight (Stephens), the 2011 winner of the Div 1 Medal, won this event undefeated and pegged out in all but one game. An excellent effort.

Runner-up: Les Watson and Ernie Melville tied on three games won, but Les won on net hoops.

Kathleen Colclough wins 2016 CAQ Div 1 Medal

Last Saturday and Sunday, the CAQ 2016 Div 1 Medal was held at Stephens. The weather was perfect and the courts played well.

The format was a round robin block of eight players from several regions in Queensland. All seven rounds were needed to determine the Winner.

Kathleen Colclough (Headland-Buderim) and Ralph Allan (Stephens) tied on 5 games won, but Kathleen was the Winner on Net Hoops.
