Thank you from the Bay Gateball Competition 2026

Thank you to everyone who attended the Bay Gateball Competition this weekend. We had a fantastic turnout and a great weekend of gateball.

A big thank you to The Sands Bowlo for being such a fantastic venue. Special thanks to Susan, Wil, Gail, and the wonderful staff who looked after us so well throughout the weekend – your support and hospitality were greatly appreciated.

We would also like to acknowledge the generous support of the Kedron Wavell Services Club Community Funding Program, whose donation towards our venue hire helped make this event possible.

A special thank you to Judy Stringer for presenting the Max Stringer Memorial Trophy and for sharing such wonderful words about Max. It was a very meaningful moment for everyone involved.

Max Stringer Memorial Trophy – Teams Event 2026

Congratulations to Rockhampton, Toronto, and National Parks for winning, and to the runners-up, the Southport-Canberra team.

Doubles Trophy

The Doubles Trophy came down to a thrilling final playoff between Philip Rowland and Alan Beeson, and Geoff Morris and Paul Elkiburg. It was an incredibly close game, with Philip and Alan winning 13–12. Congratulations to both teams on such a great match!

Thanks for making the trip

It was fantastic to see players travelling from Canberra, Cambridge, Toronto, Newcastle, and Southport, along with our local clubs Stephens, Pine Rivers, Eildon, Moreton Bay, and Caloundra. Thank you all for making the trip and supporting the event.

We truly appreciate everyone who participated and helped make the weekend such a success. We look forward to seeing you all again at future competitions!
