Stephens players shine at 2016 Gold Coast Tweed Regional Tournament

any of the club's Association Croquet players travelled to various clubs on the Gold Coast for the 2016 Gold Coast Tweed Regional Tournament. It was always good competition, with many visitors from New Zealand and interstate (and the lunches are excellent!).

Event 1 Ladies Open: Pam Fisher and Marion McInnes (both from New Zealand) played very well again to come 1st and 2nd. Heather from Stephens was 3rd.

Event 3 Doubles: The Melvilles and the Preston brothers played in this event, which was won by Marion McInnes and her partner Dave Luxmoore from Burleigh Heads-Palm Beach with a convincing 5 out of 6 wins.

Group 2 Singles: Ross Preston was part of a strong field, where Dave continued his good form to win undefeated.

Open Singles: Ralph Allan played in the Men's Open and also the 'big event', Event 11, the Open Singles, along with Heather. Once again, the New Zealanders were the ones to watch over the three days, but Ralph was runner-up to Pam Fisher, who was undefeated. Well done Ralph on winning 8 out of 9 games.

Thanks so much to the many host clubs and volunteers.
