Stephens players scoop the pool at Windsor's October Association Brooch

indsor started October with the Association Brooch, with players travelling from Southport, Toowoomba, Stephens, Merthyr and Windsor. Although we only had 8 entries, players had a most enjoyable day under sunny skies with cool breezes.

The players from Stephens CC scooped the pool, with Heather Grant the winner of Block A and Tyler Stewart, a first-time entrant in a Windsor Association Brooch, the winner of Block B. Congratulations to you both.

The November Association Brooch, to be held on 1 November, will be the final brooch for the year. Entries are now open, so head over to our website to register.

Thanks to Alison Love for stepping in and taking over the Tournament Manager role and baking a yummy carrot cake. Thanks also to Jim Love and Bob Dawson for hoop setting, Marg Wardle for baking that yummy slice, Willy Silk for refereeing, Grinners Trophies for the brooches, and all the other members who help make the day a success.

We proudly flew our new Windsor Croquet Club flag today. Thanks to Alison and Jim Love for donating our new flag to replace our much-worn old one.

Meanwhile, Windsor member Jeanette visited the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and came across the Laurel Bank Croquet Club. She was most impressed with the beautiful flowers which surrounded the club. I think she may have stopped by for a Devonshire Tea too.
