Stephens members shine at Darling Downs Regional Tournament

Last weekend, four Stephens members travelled to Toowoomba for the 2021 Darling Downs Regional Tournament - Association Croquet Singles.

In Division 1, playing for the Rene Cole Memorial Trophy, Ralph Allan and Heather Knight played each other in a semi-final. Heather went on to win the final against Lindsay David (Twin Rivers Community Mallet Sports Club Inc).

Jacky Lynch and Bruce Ford competed in the Division 2 event. Jacky showed excellent form to win the shield undefeated. The runner-up was Wayne Lusk (Point Lookout Croquet Club).

Both events were generously sponsored by Burstows Funerals.

Everyone agreed that Toowoomba Croquet Club did a great job hosting the event. There were competitors from as far north as Gracemere Croquet Club and south to Coutts Crossing Recreation Incorporated Croquet Club in NSW.

Wayne Lusk has competed in the DDRT since he started playing croquet and said that it feels like 'coming home' each year he returns.
