Stephens Croquet Club celebrates 95th anniversary with dinner

The first sod for the courts was turned by horse and plough on 15th October 1923. The first photo we have of croquet played on the courts is from 1925.

We are very pleased that our Club Patron, Cr Nicole Johnston, was able to join us at Yeronga Services & Community Club Inc. for the celebratory dinner last Monday evening.

Club member Cesare Crispigni and his band served up a smorgasbord of music that just had to be danced to.

The superb cake was cut by our longest serving member, Ernie Melville, and Margaret Melville, who was recently inducted into the CAQ Hall of Recognition.

95!

Already five years since the first 'turning of the sod' dinner – a great night with more dancing to celebrate the club.
