eing Australia Day, Southport Croquet Club held its usual flag raising ceremony at the start of play today. The President, Alan Edwards, welcomed the players and provided a short background to the actual day. After the raising of the flag, everyone sang the National Anthem.
Association Croquet and Ricochet games were played.
Lunch was a welcome feast, with BBQ lamb burgers, buns, salad and pineapple for the first course. Lamingtons, home made by Eunice Frater, were the second course.
We were able to play until 3:00 p.m., when steady rain arrived.
The photo is of the flag having been raised and shows some of the members who attended, all of whom were suitably distanced.
