Southerners win 2017 ACA Patron's Trophy at Wynnum

The 2017 ACA Patron's Trophy was hosted by Wynnum Croquet Club in June. It was great to have a National event in Queensland. It attracted entrants from around Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and New Zealand. Ralph, Rosemary and Heather from Stephens were in the field.

It was a best of three knockout format. Some games were played under lights (boosted by moonlight) on Saturday to fit all the games into two days.

As with the CAQ Queensland Open Association Croquet Open Singles the week before, 'southerners' were the winners.

Claire Bassett (NSW) won the Final against her husband, Trevor Bassett. As you can see from the photo, it was a real family affair.

Many thanks to Brian Rubock, who managed the event, and to Wynnum Club for their hospitality.
