Ross Rillie wins CAQ Golf Croquet Open Singles

ay 2 of the CAQ Golf Croquet Open Singles Championship capped off a wonderful weekend of fabulous croquet.

The 8 players fought incredibly hard in a round robin to gain hoops over their opponents with skillful shots, long range accurate roquets and wonderful jump shots. What a pleasure it was to watch these men play at their best.

The eventual winner was Ross Rillie (Headland-Buderim), 2nd place went to Geoff Hull (Wynnum) and 3rd place went to Gordon Giles (Wynnum).

The presentation was made by Life Member Phyllis Pledger, who was thrilled to present such a prestigious trophy.

Huge congratulations to you all, you provided us with some wonderful entertainment over the entire weekend.

Thanks must go to hoop setter Bruce who was on the job between every game to ensure the hoops were correct, thanks to our dedicated referees Cloreen and Liz who ran many miles during the day as they were required over 4 separate courts, and thanks also to the wonderful kitchen staff who provided the players (and spectators) with a wonderful spread throughout the day.

It was a really great weekend.
