Renaissance Gala Day brings 32 players to Wynnum

The weather gods were smiling for our Gala Day on Thursday 8 July, sponsored by Renaissance Retirement Living.

We had a 'full house' with 32 players coming from seven clubs: Bribie Island, Twin Rivers, Headland Buderim, Ipswich, Eildon, Palm Beach, and Wynnum. It was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces and everyone enjoying their croquet.

Players were divided into four blocks and had three games in the morning. The winners of each block then progressed to a 'final' block, with seconds, thirds, and fourths playing off. Wynnum had 4 players who, with their partners, won their blocks in the morning.

- First place went to Elaine Drennan (Ipswich) and Aina Johns (Wynnum). - Second place went to Lorraine Stott (Headland Buderim) with Gaile Nancarrow (Wynnum). - Third place went to Michele Reed (Twin Rivers) and Jenny Sime (Wynnum). - Fourth place went to Heather Scott (Ipswich) and Noela Gray (Wynnum).

The presentation of prizes was made by Lyndsay MacKinder from Renaissance Retirement Living to the winners and, as always, we thank Renaissance for their sponsorship.

Hosting this event was a great team effort by Wynnum members, and thanks must go to all those who helped on the day and also the caterers. Well done everyone, it was a great day.
