Remembering Dorothy Dolman's legacy at Windsor

Dorothy Dolman contributed greatly in the 1980s and 90s to help make Windsor Croquet Club one of the largest in Brisbane. Starting in 1976, Dorothy was joined soon after by her sister Jean Trenkner. Dorothy's daughter Margaret Melville also played and went on to represent Queensland and Australia.

Dorothy's large and trusty green car, affectionately known as Gertie, would transport Windsor members to the monthly Party Days and Brooch events. She also helped run the cards and croquet events that generated much-needed revenue for the club.

Her legacy was all about helping others and ensuring they had a good time. Dorothy was passionate about coaching and really enjoyed helping beginners on the half courts on Lawn 4.

Thanks to members like Dorothy, our club was built for success—and today's members are all benefiting from that foundation.
