Randall Whyte wins Graceville Golf Singles Level Play again

Randall Whyte wins the "Graceville Golf Singles Level Play" competition for the 4th year.

Graceville Croquet Club hosted this event on Sunday 19th March, 2023. The event was proudly sponsored by Simon Hurwood, Focus Optometrists.

Players from Windsor, McIlwraith, Nambour and Twin Rivers Croquet Clubs joined Randall Whyte from our Club to compete. The day dawned hot and humid but did not dampen the enthusiasm of the players or the diligence of the referee, Gaye Pitman from Stephens Club.

The standard of croquet, especially in the hot conditions, was extraordinary, and the final between Graham McLean from Windsor Club and Randall Whyte from Graceville was magnificent. A hushed crowd watched every ball played and clapped every hoop scored. The silence was deafening as play went to the 13th hoop.

There can only be one winner. Commiserations Graham, congratulations Randall.

A big shout out to Joy Virgo for all her hard work in organising and running the event, and to Helen Phillips and Janet Cramb for putting on a scrumptious all-day spread of cakes, biscuits, fruit and refreshing iced drinks.

Croquet is such a wonderful sport.
