Queensland Golf Croquet team third nationally as Eildon ends Gala Day season
Queensland's State Golf Croquet team finished third in the National Competition in the Hunter Valley, with Addison runner-up in the Gold Medal Event. Eildon also held its final Gala Day of the season.
Eildon wraps up final Gala Day of the season

he final Gala Day for Eildon was held on Sunday. There was a combination of visitors from other clubs as well as Eildon members, who had a range of handicaps. The players were paired as high and low handicaps and divided into two groups.
Rikki Barrett and partner, sometimes Kay and sometimes Cathy, were the winners of Block A. Dennis and Tony were the runners-up.
The winners of Block B were decided not on games won, which was the same, nor on net hoops, which was also the same, but on the result of the block game between them. The winners were Peter and Brett, who defeated Jan and Sally in their block game.
Congratulations to all players.
A special thank you to all the volunteers who made the day such a success. We look forward to seeing you play in the 2026 Gala Days.
Of interest to those who have been following the nesting plovers: the chicks have hatched, and four chicks are now out and about the grounds.

Queensland Golf Croquet team finishes third nationally

Congratulations to the Queensland State Golf Croquet Club on their great performance in the Inter State Series held in the Hunter Valley. Despite the rain and wind, the team played some great croquet to finish third in the National Competition. This has been one of the best performances by a State Golf team in many years.
Super effort by Addison to be runner-up in the Gold Medal Event held earlier in the month. Congratulations also to the other Eildon State players, Desley and Bob, who competed with the skill and dedication that we have seen them play with on our courts.
