Queensland fights back to win croquet State of Origin
QLD came from behind to clinch the annual State of Origin croquet title for the Tweed Gold Coast Region, turning around last year's loss. The day was beautifully organised and catered.
oday was the annual "State of Origin" Competition for croquet players in the Tweed Gold Coast Region. Again, it was beautifully organised by Dave Luxmoore and catered so well by Burleigh Heads/Palm Beach Club members. Players from the Region competed in Golf Croquet, Ricochet or Association Croquet. Clouds left about 11:00 a.m. and sunny skies dominated. All augurs well for tonight's State of Origin in Rugby League in Perth!
NSW were leading up until lunch time, but QLD came from behind to clinch the title. QLD players turned it around from last year's loss. Thanks to all who participated; we enjoyed the atmosphere. Where we played against some people in pennants, we then played with them based on our birth state! A wonderful day indeed!
Barbara holds the trophy that Alan Edwards (Broadbeach CC) held so happily last year.
