QLD State Team inter-squad competition at Windsor

On a great third last day of winter, and in the absence of the cancelled ISS Interstate Shield event for this year, the QLD State Team and reserves and replacements for some who were unable to play gathered today at Windsor Club.

Red and Blue teams were formed, playing an ISS competition format of 4 doubles games then 2 singles games for each player.

The Blue team was led by Mary McMahon (Southport) and comprised 3 players from Eildon - Lawrie Simpson, Bob Martin and Megan Stuart - plus Gabby Spencer (Southport), Richard Pickvance (Wynnum), Peter Nicholson (McIlwraith) and Geraldine Trivett (Stephens).

The Red team was led by Greg Bury (Windsor) with Gordon Giles (Wynnum), Rosemary Newsham (Stephens), Marilyn Nelson (Eildon), Dennis and Sue Green (Bribie Island), Pop Petersen (Nambour) and Ron Schodel (Twin Rivers).

After 9 hours of play the Blue team won 7 matches to 5; 22 games to 18; 237 hoops to 232.

Well done to all.
