President Val Layne recognised in Australia Day Local Hero Awards

Congratulations to our busy and dedicated President, Val Layne, who was recognised in the Australia Day Local Hero Awards – Tennyson Ward.

From Cr Nicole Johnston: 'Thank you to our Local Heroes and their families, many of whom are also roped into help and give up their time to support the recipients' work and in turn make a wonderful contribution to the community themselves.'

Thanks go to Gerard Smith, who nominated Val for the award. He and Margaret joined Val's family and friends at the presentation ceremony for Tennyson and Moorooka Wards.
