Peter and Judy De-Vene win Wynnum Cup

Wynnum Cup, held Sunday 20 July

A beautiful winter's day saw Block A with 5 pairs and Block B with 6 pairs for this GC Mixed Doubles Handicap event, giving each pair in Block A a bye during the day. The weather was perfect, and the court surfaces ran very fast.

The winners were Peter and Judy De-Vene from Eildon, with runners-up Barry Beattie and Sue Anderson from Wynnum. A short, sharp shower came through as they were battling out the final, but it never dampened their play. Well played to both teams.

Thanks must go to our Tournament Manager Diana, our hoop setter and referee John, and all the people who helped take the courts down at the end of the day.

Our caterer Ann did an amazing job providing a wonderful array of food, and thanks also to her helpers who kept the food coming all day. Amazing work, everyone.
