The Easter Carnival continued on Monday with Golf Croquet Doubles using a modified Egyptian scoring method.

Despite a shower or two, it was an enjoyable day for the 10 pairings. Often the winners are not known until the last game is complete.

This year Peter Nicholson & Roger/Annette (McIlwraith) won, and Ces Crispigni & Ralph Allan (Stephens) were second.

Friendly competition at Stephens Easter Carnival

We enjoyed ourselves this weekend, with lots of friendly competition during the Easter Carnival.

On Saturday and Sunday of the Easter weekend, the long-running Association Croquet Handicap Singles Tournament had competitors from as far away as Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Maleny.

The format was slightly different this year, with some players gaining a second life by winning another game. This yielded three winners! Ken Wallman (Windsor/Bribie) was in excellent form after his participation in the ACA Australian Men’s Singles, as was Geraldine Trivett (Stephens), who had also travelled to Melbourne for the Australian Women’s Singles. The third winner was Nick Smith (Maryborough), which made his trip from Tin Can Bay worthwhile.

Thanks for the photos, John.
