CAQ Membership Pilot Program Revitalises East Brisbane
A membership growth initiative is proving successful, and is preparing to roll out to your club.
At the end of last year, East Brisbane was a club worried about its future. Now it has significantly more members and will be gaining more with the Come&Try marketing beginning this month.
The photo shows a come and try day on the East Brisbane lawns. The crux of the idea is simple: we ask people if they'd like to try croquet. Then we show them a good time. If they like it they come back. If they come back they become members.
It is that easy. The club set aside Come&Try times, a relaxed session just for newcomers. No pressure, no stuffy rules, just the enjoyment of hitting a few balls, running some hoops and having a cup of tea. Fun croquet stuff.
If our guest enjoyed it, we will invite them to come along to club days. They play beside the regulars and are made to feel at home. Naturally they join cause your club is fabulous. And does an awesome carrot cake (sign up for the next East Brisbane gala day purely for the cakes, trust me).

That's it, it's welcoming someone who turns up, showing them the hoops and inviting them back if they enjoy it.
It works cause croquet sells itself. People want to play croquet. When the figures are looked out, our advertising is multiple times more effective than bowls' response rates.
Croquet knows what it needs to do now. Just have to copy-paste. Thanks East Brisbane, you're all champs.
