Tournaments are so much fun and the Mt Warren Chempro Cup proved to be just another great fun day for all the competitors, who according to our referee John were also all very well behaved (no accidental mallet to head injuries).

The weather was kind to us; the food was plentiful and delicious and the lawns looked great.

There are many people to thank for making this event a success, starting with our generous sponsor, Mt Warren Chempro, who also provided a wonderful basket of goodies for our raffle.

A special shout-out to Glenn, our event manager. As one of our newer members, we decided to honour and entrust him with this important role, and he did such a stellar job that we may just honour him again in the future!

Bruce, our tournament manager, kept everything running smoothly throughout the day. John, our referee, had a pretty easy day thanks to all the players who followed the rules and kept things fair. Mimi, our providore, along with other members, put together a fantastic spread for both morning and afternoon tea. In fact, during lunch, one comment was made that we should just skip the play and focus on socialising instead!

A huge thank you to Bob and Jan, who worked tirelessly in the rain on Friday to ensure the lawns were in peak condition, and to Bruce for handling the line marking. We also appreciate all the helpers who set up and cleaned up—many hands truly make light work.

Finally, congratulations to our winners, Neville Gray and Rodney Reeves from the Ipswich Club, and our runners-up, Neville McGregor and Carl McGifford from Twin Rivers. Both pairs won four out of five games in their block, and with 11 net hoops each, they met in the final, where the Ipswich duo triumphed with a 7/2 win. Well done!
