Twin Rivers celebrates its thirteenth birthday

ur thirteenth birthday was celebrated on Saturday with a good roll up and fortunately good weather. There was a knockout doubles competition, a very nice lunch and of course a lovely birthday cake baked and decorated by Collen.

There were also some very nice raffle prizes provided by our wonderful sponsors Ingenia Holidays, Bunnings Loganholme, The Eagle Tavern and Officeworks Loganholme. Prizes were also donated by club members.

Winners of the knockout competition were Mimi and Elaine, with Michele and Neville runners-up.

Unfortunately our Patron Bert van Manen (MP) was unable to attend, so by default Karen Murphy (local councillor) won that golf croquet challenge.

There has been a lot of interest in our two new courts, which have been under construction since the turning of the sod back in February. They are coming along nicely and very soon the turf will be laid, so all going well we will be playing on them before Christmas.

Another little win for Twin Rivers, with Di Michels and partner Colin Beckett from the Headland Buderim club winning the doubles at Hervey Bay.

What a great week it was, and well done to the Hervey Bay Club for running such a successful tournament.
