Michael Gidding wins CAQ Open Singles at Windsor, which also hosts first mah-jong fun-day
Michael Gidding of Ballina won every game at the CAQ Association Open Singles at Windsor, with Greg Whymark runner-up. The club also held its first mah-jong fun-day, won by Maree.
Windsor's first mah-jong fun-day a hive of activity

CC was a hive of activity recently when the first mah-jong fun-day was held. Organised by Margaret W. and Lesley, the day drew 20 participants playing eight games before lunch and eight after.
The games were predominantly unknown to players, causing some interesting reactions. Points were gained for achieving mah-jong, fishing, etc. At the end of the day, Maree was the winner and Chris runner-up.
The organisers excelled themselves with the delectable food that they and some club members prepared for lunch. Raffles were also held.
All those present said they look forward to the next fun-day and congratulated the organisers. Proceeds from the event were donated to the club.

Michael Gidding wins CAQ Association Open Singles at Windsor
Windsor hosted the CAQ Association Open Singles event, held on both Saturday and Sunday. We welcomed players from Queensland as well as New South Wales.
Players were divided into two blocks and played three games on Saturday and a further two games on Sunday, with the winners of each block in a play-off to determine the overall winner.
We congratulate Michael Gidding from Ballina on his success, winning all his games. Greg Whymark from Bribie Island was the runner-up.
Thanks to all players, refs, tournament managers, hoop setters, caterers, and everyone else who contributed to help make this such a successful day.
