McIlwraith beats the rain to finish Open Doubles
McIlwraith finished the second day of the Croquet Queensland AC Open Doubles just before the rain arrived. Bruce Fleming and Chris Borlase took the title.
e beat the rain! We managed to get the second day of the Croquet Queensland AC Open Doubles finished today, just before the heavens opened!
It was a fabulous weekend of precision play with six talented pairs in the competition. McIlwraith loved hosting and picked up some great insights into Association Croquet (plus a few insider tips on hoop setting!).
Congratulations to the winners Bruce Fleming and Chris Borlase (pictured with the trophy) and to runners-up David Luxmore and Malcolm Campbell, with presentations made on behalf of CAQ by Willy Silk.
A big thank you to tournament referee Liz Fleming and umpire Helen David, who shone even brighter than their hi-vis tops!
