Mary wins CAQ Ladies Singles Championship at Eildon

Eildon Croquet Club hosted the CAQ Ladies Singles Championship over three days from 22-24 March. Players from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast entered this event to play for the Liz Fleming Trophy, with some very close games being played.

The Championship Division consisted of eight players: Mary and Gabby from Southport Club; Claire, Carol and Francesca from Windsor Club; Jenee from Bribie Island Club; Ann from Burleigh Heads Palm Beach Club; and Helen from Headland Buderim Club.

Congratulations to Mary, who defeated Gabby in the final, two games to one. Jenee defeated Francesca in the playoff for third.

The winner of the Plate was Jannene from Ipswich, and Desley from Eildon was the runner-up. An interested crowd of spectators enjoyed watching the games unfold.

Thank you to the volunteers: event manager Megan, referees, caterers, and those members who helped set up and put away each day. Special thanks to Reno and the ground crew, who ensured the lawns and grounds were in such good condition.
