Almost 30 McIlwraith members joined a Player Development Program morning with top-ranked Australian player Mary McMahon. It was also a homecoming, as Mary played her first major tournament at the club.

morning with top-ranked Australian player Mary McMahon is a morning to remember!

Almost 30 members turned out for our Player Development Program this morning and were inspired by her no-nonsense tips, infectious enthusiasm and a big dose of practise, practise, practise. Mary McMahon reignited our love for the game.

It was a homecoming too – Mary played her first major tournament here at McIlwraith with our own "croquet royalty" Peter Nicholson, and enjoyed catching up with fellow top player and pocket-rocket referee Penny Jackson, as well as Croquet Queensland committee colleague, Marilyn Nelson.

We'll be cheering Mary on from afar as she competes in the Egyptian International Golf Croquet Championships this September – go Mary!
