Kevin Leadbetter honoured at Buderim Volunteer Awards

Congratulations to Kevin Leadbetter, who received a recognition award from MP Brent Mickelberg's Buderim Volunteer Awards and Thank You Morning Tea, held on 25 July at the Buderim War Memorial Hall.

Kevin and his wife Robyn joined Headland-Buderim croquet club in 2013 on their retirement to the Sunshine Coast. Kevin took over the position of Greens Director in 2015, liaising directly with the contracted greenkeeper, mowing the court surrounds weekly, and ensuring that the courts and surrounds are maintained to competition standards. At 82 years old, Kevin continues to provide an invaluable service to the club.

In addition to maintaining the grounds, he is an active member of the club committee, and he and Robyn do an astonishing job of maintaining the clubhouse and other facilities to the standards required by the Sunshine Coast Council. Kevin is the go-to person when quotes need to be obtained, or contractors organised.

His volunteering ethic is an example to everyone.
