Julia Tai and Ethan Chilton win RPM mixed doubles
Julia Tai and her son Ethan Chilton won the annual RPM-sponsored mixed doubles Golf Croquet competition at Southport under sunny skies. They received the Golden Mallets.
oday was the annual competition sponsored by RPM, a provider of mallets whose representative, Gerald Manning, is a member of Southport Croquet Club. This mixed doubles Golf Croquet competition was held under sunny skies.
The winning pair was Julia Tai and Ethan Chilton, seen here in the photo with David Dittmer (the craftsman who made the winning "Golden Mallets"), Dawn Crichlow OAM, Patron of the Southport Croquet Club, and Gerald Manning.
What surprises many people is that Julia and her son Ethan regularly play Gateball at a high standard and play Ricochet every Saturday, but can play Golf Croquet mainly in school holidays. It shows the powerful skill transfer of hand-eye coordination across all codes of croquet.
