Inaugural Mt Warren Chempro Cup held at Twin Rivers

The Inaugural Mt Warren Chempro Cup was held on Sunday 21st April. It was an exciting day for the club, as this was the first time members from other clubs were able to compete at Twin Rivers since moving to Bedford Park in Eagleby. We were very happy to welcome players from Wynnum, Windsor, Stephens and Ipswich clubs who entered this tournament.

Congratulations to Marre Vesty and Neville McGregor (Twin Rivers) for their win on the day. They won all their 7 games against some tough opponents. Runners-up were Dianne Lovi and John van Barneveld from Wynnum.

Lesley from the Mt Warren Chempro Chemist presented the trophies and drew the raffle for the basket of goodies, also donated by the chemist, that was won by Trevor.

A big thanks to all those who worked so hard to make this happen: Lindsay our tournament manager, Kevin and his team for preparing the courts (rain, mites, bugs and now fire ants have presented some real challenges), Trevor our referee, and timekeepers Lynne and Bruce.

Last but not least, thank you to our sponsor, the Mt Warren Chempro Chemist. Mt Warren Chempro has been one of our sponsors for a little while now, providing some great raffle prizes, so it is great to have them now sponsoring an annual tournament.
