Inaugural Laurel Bank Weekender draws players from three states

Twelve players joined us for our inaugural Laurel Bank Weekender. Two days of Golf Croquet were played in exceptional Toowoomba winter weather as players vied for the Laurel Bank Championship Trophy, donated by Thunder Gymnastics.

Players from Drouin and Morwell in Victoria, Woolgoolga in NSW, Bribie Island, West Toowoomba and Laurel Bank played off on Saturday before competing in the Championship and Plate events on Sunday.

Thanks to our major sponsor, Gareth Edwards Optometry, for supporting this event. We appreciate the assistance of club members who made the weekend a success, and thanks to referee Tim Jones.

Congratulations to the winners:

- Champion: Joy Wright (Laurel Bank) - Runner Up: Penny Morrison-McGill (Morwell) - Plate 1st: Bob Quayle (Drouin) - Plate 2nd: Frances Wright (Laurel Bank)
