Hudson Cup finals decided at Burleigh Heads Palm Beach

Two finals were held for the club's Hudson Cup yesterday.

In division two, Paula Bollington took an early lead, winning the first game 7 to 1. In the second game, Steve Srimingeour fought back to also win 7 to 1. So it went to a decider, with Steve eventually running out the winner by 7 to 3.

In division one, John Anthony, a past winner and finalist, was up against Dave Luxmoore, who was fresh from winning a state AC event. The final outcome was a win to Dave, 7 to 5 and 7 to 4. On several occasions John was well positioned to run a hoop, but Dave managed to knock him away, sometimes from some way back.

Both matches were refereed by Dot Davidson and Andy Hallinon.

It was good to see some 14 members at the club for the finals.

Prior to the game, John and June Hudson sent their best wishes from New Zealand to all contestants, with the rider "wish we were with you".
