Headland Buderim unveils clubhouse mural and prepares for a busy year
Headland Buderim unveils its clubhouse mural, thanks supporters and prepares for a busy playing and event calendar.
Headland Buderim is looking at another busy year, with eight regular playing sessions, social days, Sunshine Coast Region Croquet Club pennants, and members competing in ACA and CAQ events. The club will again host ACA’s GC Bronze Medal Queensland from 23 to 25 May, and members are encouraged to support and watch some of Queensland’s top players.
The official unveiling of the clubhouse mural took place on Tuesday 10 December with a good roll up of members. Thanks went to the club’s grant officer, Sherry, for the time and persistence that helped bring the project to completion. The mural was made possible through Cr Christian Dickson’s discretionary fund and a Sports and Recreation Active Women and Girls grant.
Club President Shirley Eames opened proceedings. Mayor Rosanna Natoli responded on behalf of Cr Christian Dickson, who was initially unable to attend because of a medical injury, but he was ultimately able to be there and see the project completed through artist Meike van den Berg.

The Headland Cup on Sunday 6 April has been revamped from a handicap format to level play using handicap cards. The club hopes to attract a full field again, and thanked stalwart Pam Shepherd for her continuing support with generous prize money of $500.
Headland Buderim also thanked all the wonderful volunteers in croquet.
