Headland-Buderim members shine at Qld GC Eights
Several Headland-Buderim members showed their support for competitive play at the Qld GC Eights (Singles) over 2–3 May, with Col Beckett playing and Ross Rillie refereeing. The club thanks members who follow these events through Croquet Scores.
Several members of Headland-Buderim showed they were still very much a force within the club with their support for competitive play.
Qld GC Eights (Singles) were held over 2–3 May. Col Beckett played the 3rd Eights at Wynnum while Ross Rillie refereed both days at Toombul. Four lawns, doubled up, certainly kept refs on their toes. Helen out of action but busy with moral support and photo taking.
Thank you to our members who also take a positive interest and follow these events through Croquet Scores. Many of the 32 players were proving their worth in this and upcoming Qld events to be chosen for the 2026 Qld GC Team or as contenders for the following years as they improve and hopefully come through the ranks. These events allow selectors to watch players in action and for potential players to be invited to play in the 2027 Development squad, a steppingstone to the Qld Squad and eventually, Qld Team.
Congratulations to Toombul and Wynnum, host clubs who did a great job whilst also supporting the health of Croquet Queensland so necessary if we are to continue to thrive as a sport.
