Headland-Buderim farewells Anne Somers Vine

A morning tea was held on Tuesday 19th August for Anne Somers Vine on the eve of her hanging up her mallet.

Patron and friend Gordon Matthews spoke of Anne as highly respected and popular, having joined the club in 2004. She was Club President in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and again for a short period in 2022. She also served at various times as Convener, Grants Officer and Events helper, and was a volunteer whenever the occasion arose. Anne has always been pleasant and enjoyable company, ready to offer assistance and never critical of others.

Anne was presented with flowers and a photo album signed by members and filled with photographic memories. Helen showed a PowerPoint presentation of 30 years of club history, which played in the background and featured much of Anne's time at the club. Anne was also made a Friend of the Club, presented by Secretary Sherry.

Anne was wished the very best for the next phase of her life and will be very much missed, both on and off the court.
