CA Bronze Medal (Qld), 25th–27th March 2022, Caloundra

The Caloundra courts were in great condition and the days were hot and muggy.

The eight players were vying for the honour of competing for the Gold and Silver medals in South Australia in September. The ranked competitors were Ross Rillie, Greg Bury, Gordon Giles, Bob Martin, Dennis Green, Graham McLean, Geoff Hull and Richard Pickvance.

Each match was a best of three games, with each competitor playing all seven of the other competitors over three days.

The winner was Greg Bury (Windsor), with 6 match wins and 13 games. Ross Rillie (Headland Buderim) came 2nd with 5 match wins and 11 games. Graham McLean (Eildon) came 3rd with 4 match wins and 10 games.

Congratulations to the winner, Greg Bury, and we wish him well in South Australia in September 2022.

We would like to thank the Caloundra Club for the use of their courts, and the volunteers who include the tournament manager, hoop setters, line markers and supporters.

Our thanks also to the referees Cloreen, Deirdre, Sue, Judy and Bill (Sunday), who did a magnificent job in very hot and humid conditions.

Our thanks to Helen Rillie for the photos.
