Goody Two Shoes win Patron Shield Day
Six teams of three contested the Two Shot Golf Croquet Patron Shield at Headland-Buderim. Goody Two Shoes won after five games, and four members played for the first time.
(th) Patron Shield Day, 30 August
Six teams competed in the Two Shot Golf Croquet competition, playing for the converted shield and medallions. It was a first for the day to have teams of three, allowing members who found a full day of competition a bit too tiring, or who had health reasons, to take part.
One of those teams, Goody Two Shoes, were winners after five games. Patron Gordon Matthews presented his shield to the team of Club President Shirley Eames, Carolyn Hodgins and Jim Noskoff.
Judith Matthews turned on a delicious spread, and Yvonne Palmer won the raffle.
Four club members played for the first time who haven't been able to previously.
