hen on Monday, another perfect day for Croquet, twelve Golf Croquet Doubles combinations from many different clubs competed at Stephens.
A Modified Egyptian method of scoring is used, and each pair starts with 100 points and wins or loses a number of points based on the combined handicaps of each pairing. The overall result is often not known until the last game of the day.
As our correspondent commented, "It's always a great opportunity for the lesser mortals to mix it with the top dogs, with a chance of getting a good score. Everyone enjoyed the day."
Fresh from playing well in the Queensland Doubles Championship, Ralph Allan and Cesare Crispigni came first, and it was a nail-biter for second, but the new combination of Gaye Pitman and Francis Walduck prevailed.
