Gateball tournament at Eildon a weekend of fun and fundraising

Despite the threat of rain, 51 Gateball team players from across Queensland arrived at Eildon on a cold Saturday morning, ready for a weekend of competition. After warming up with a delicious cup of hot soup, everyone headed out onto the courts for some fast-paced Gateball.

As players came off the courts and placed their sticks on the new mallet rack, there was plenty of laughter as they shared stories and wondered what had gone wrong in some of their games. Once the teams competition was completed, many players headed home, while 28 stayed on to compete in the doubles event, playing two-person teams.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend of friendly competition, fun, and camaraderie. Most importantly, the tournament raised much-needed funds for the club. A huge thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, and supported the event, making it such a great success.
