Fendalton Croquet Club from NZ visits Headland-Buderim
Twelve players from New Zealand's Fendalton Croquet Club visited the Sunshine Coast and were hosted by Headland-Buderim on Tuesday morning, 6 May. Another NZ group is due in June.
he Fendalton Croquet Club from NZ made a second visit (their first was pre-Covid) to the Sunshine Coast, basing their 12 players at Mooloolaba and playing at most clubs in the area.
Headland-Buderim was host on Tuesday morning, 6 May. With lots of pre-organising, the morning went really well, with a friendly 'them & us' match and, thankfully, good weather.
The visitors were each presented with a welcome bag, which was appreciated. Spokesperson Cathy thanked our club for their warm welcome and presented a lovely kiwi-designed plate and tea towel. An evening meal was then enjoyed at Maroochy RSL.
We also look forward to another group from NZ's South Island in June.
Croquet is such a wonderful sport to play anywhere in the world if you have a yearning for travel and sport.
